Focus on Bio-cleaning

2.27.2024

Bio-cleaning involves cleaning and disinfecting areas sensitive to contamination. It ensures the cleanliness of surfaces and removes potentially present microorganisms in high-risk or public areas

For better environmental consideration, the areas to be cleaned and disinfected are classified according to their infectious risk. There are 4 intervention zones:

Zone 1 where the risks are low (entrance halls, administrative offices)
Zone 2 where the risks are considered moderate: consultation rooms in particular
Zone 3 where the infectious risks are relatively high, such as in hospital rooms
Zone 4 where the risk is very high (operating rooms, rooms for immunocompromised patients, intensive care or transplant units, sterilization areas, etc.)

Based on this classification, each intervention sector and each area to be treated has specifically adapted procedures – concerning bio-cleaning, dressing, and hygiene and conduct rules to follow. The agents are systematically trained in infectious risks and are particularly made aware of hand hygiene!

Additionally, bio-cleaning services must follow a specific order. Cleaning must be done from top to bottom due to the sedimentation of particles characteristic of bio-cleaning and starting with the least contaminated areas, finishing with the most infected to avoid the spread of microorganisms.
